Medieval Home Décor Tips

Submitted by jrhilde

Are you looking to spruce up your home with a medieval theme? There are tons of options for you to choose from, ranging from medieval and renaissance tapestries to authentic suits of armor. This article will discuss some of the more popular choices for homes and businesses to decorate their interiors with.
The easiest way to add medieval flair to your home is simply hanging a display of a medieval sword, shield, breastplate, or a mixture of them all. There are many stores out there that offer sword displays that hang on walls. In fact, some of them come pre-made with two swords crossing each other over a shield or miniaturized breastplate. You can even simply have a plaque with a medieval sword hanging from it. A more impressive display will have a full size shield with your family crest on it. Another more unusually home décor item is having a full size and weight replica breast plate hanging from the wall. There are some out there that have hanging chains pre-attached for easy hanging. Spanish armorers are famous for making quality wall hanging breast plates. If you'd rather go a different route, then you should consider buying a medieval wall tapestry. These can rang from small 24 x 24 sized tapestries to full sized wall tapestries, which may cost you over $2000. However, you can purchase some small sized medieval themed tapestries for less than $50 at some stores. A mixture of swords, hanging shields, and tapestries will give you home a very nice medieval theme.

The ultimate medieval décor item for many people is an authentic suit of armor. These are made by traditional means, often hand-made, over in Europe and India. They are made out of real steel and are often embossed and flourished with etchings of gold, brass, and other unique designs.
