Solar Panel: How to Make It Fast

Submitted by writerarnold

People are becoming aware of the solar panel, how to make them, and their benefits. If you wish to have a solar panel, and want to know how it is made, you can find some useful information here.

Silicon is an important chemical which is needed to make a solar energy panel. But making a solar panel using silicon is expensive. We can use cuprous oxide instead of silicon so as to make the panel more economical. Cuprous oxide has the property of photo electricity like many other metal compounds, but it is not less efficient than silicon. Still it remains as a good option when cost is a major consideration.
What are the requirements to make a panel?

There are many components required to make solar panels. These components include an electric coil heater of 1000 watts and a square copper dish which is very small than the coil in the heater. This should be rigidly fixed in the heater so that the connection is secure.

The procedure to make the panel:

The copper dish must be cleaned perfectly. Sand paper can be used to clean the plate thoroughly. The dish should then be heated for half an hour. As the temperature is increased, oxidation will occur. The color of the dish will change from pink to brown and then to black. Once the dish has turned black in color, we should stop heating it. The black color is an indication of cupric oxide. A red cover will be seen below the black and this red coloration indicates cuprous oxide. The dish must be cooled now. There should be a certain fixed time gap between the cooling of the oxide and cooling of the copper plates. Cupric oxide can be removed after cooling because it is of no use. When you clean the soot do not remove the coating that is red in color.

We will then need a big water glass with a wide mouth. We can also remove the upper part of the glass as this will make the opening wide. Place the copper dish above this glass with the red part of the copper dish facing the glass. We can use another copper piece which is identical in size to the original copper piece and place it inside the glass. The two copper plates must not be in contact with one another. Then salt water must be added to the content of the glass. This will cause the dish to be immersed in the salt water. Two clips must be fixed in the dishes. A micrometer is used to connect with the dish plates which will make the positive end connected to the plate. After connecting the negative part to the red colored one, the whole arrangement should be kept under the sun. The panel is now ready. To check whether the panel is working, the reading of the ammeter must be noted since it indicates the current flow in the panel.

So, now you know solar panel, how to make effectively and cheaply. Thus you can make your own panels and protect the environment from harmful pollutants.
