The Soft Touch of a Feather Duster

Submitted by vvali58

Don't start laughing just yet! When it comes to housecleaning nowadays, there's even more that can be accomplished with the soft touch of a feather duster.
I know you can picture it. I know; you can smell that dust cloud. While the mere image of an outstretched arm rapidly swishing an oversized bundle of ostrich-feathers might be enough to make you sneeze, the action, performed on your shelf of fragile collectibles, is guaranteed to please.
Not only can such supposedly old-fashioned dusters sweep surfaces safely without a scratch, but they can wiggle their way into most small spaces. Ah, sweet success.
Now for those of you without a shelf with valuable collectibles, what about that home office chock full of delicate electronics and that den with those new-fangled giant television screens? Don't tell me you haven't carefully maneuvered around them, trying to figure out how to coax the dust off without damaging the surface.
Running your fingers over your keyboard doesn't really do the job. Let's be honest, it's not nearly as much fun as playing with a bunch of soft feathers.
Your modern gadgets need special care and a light touch, to ensure that they remain unscratched. That's where a real, environmentally-friendly, feather duster enters the picture.
Look for one made with real ostrich feathers. Dusters like these will pick up and hold onto particles as you swipe the objects in your path.
Make sure to shake out your duster on a regular basis while you work. That way you won't end up shifting the dust from one item onto another.
And dusting doesn't have to be such a boring chore, especially not when armed with a bouquet of ostrich feathers. Feel free to dress for success on this mission according to your own fashion sense.
Seriously, why not turn your dusting session into a workout or practice those dance moves while you work. Strap on your tunes and don your earphones while you swish & shout! Don't worry: no one's watching your windows that closely! If they are, they might just follow your lead.
When you've finished with the delicate objects, move on to your bookshelves and lampshades. They'll love a minute of your attention. The same light touch won't hurt them either. You'll likely run into other out-of-the-way spots that need a nod or two.
Test your duster on other protected surfaces and objects in your home. Your sniffer will thank you for ridding your environment of all that unwanted build-up.
Once you've had a taste of working with the real deal, you won't go back to using anything else to keep your extra-wide screen shiny and clean.
Before signing off, there's one final step to complete. Your cleaning tools need a little attention to keep on working their best.
When it comes to taking good care of your feathered friend, rinse it in soapy water, and choose a nice corner for it to hang out in. Simply allow your feather duster to dry naturally, of course.
