Treating Your Water with Pool Chemicals

Submitted by Glenn Dietzel

If you are having a pool installed then you are very soon going to have to come to terms with the fact that you will be dealing with pool chemicals. Don't worry though, because using pool chemicals to keep your pool water pure and safe to swim in is now so much easier then it has ever been before.

In fact you can even get an automatic pool chemical dispenser that does most of the work for you. Even though using pool chemicals is so much easier to do now there are a few basic things that you will need to work with them. The first thing that you will want to have is a safe place to keep them such as behind a locked door in a pool house or locked in a cabinet in your garage.

The reason for this is that kids can be attracted to any type of chemicals and although pool chemicals aren't as poisonous as other chemicals that can be found in a home, they can cause severe skin irritation and even chemical burns on the skin.

Pool water testing is now so much easier then it has ever been before also, because its as easy as dipping a test strip into the water to test now. Pool chemicals come in a number of different variations and all the information that you will need to determine just what you will want can be easily found online.

Also there are varying factors that will determine how often you need to test for and add pool chemicals, such as amount of pool use and the season of year. For instance you will be needing to test for and add more pool chemicals in the mid summer when your pool is being used every day then you will in the middle of the winter when the weather is cold and the pool is empty.
