Diamond saw blades are the tool of choice for cutting any type of concrete. Use this four point guide to understand what they are and how they are used to create professional, clean cuts in concrete through abrasion. This guide can be used as you shop for concrete cutting tools or just to learn about the quality and design of diamond blades.

1. Engineered Design
Diamond saw blades have a specific design to allow the synthetic diamonds to abrade the concrete surface as the saw blade spins. The diamonds are mounted in the perimeter of the blade, allowing for direct contact with the surface. When one edge wears down, the dulled diamonds fall out, exposing new ring of diamonds.

2. Quality Abrasion
The diamond particles in the edge of the saw blade give the cleanest, highest quality abrasion available for concrete surfaces. Different mixtures of concrete can be cut with different types of blades.

3. Professional Standards
Getting a clean cut on your concrete wall, pavement or edging can be key to getting and overall finish on a project. Using the proper diamond saw blades is important to getting the best possible cut. It’s important to consider the type of concrete you’ll be cutting. For example, for cutting softer and green concrete, you can use a blade with an edge that wears away less quickly. The diamonds, even after they’ve dulled slightly, will still be usable for cutting those softer concretes.

4. Variety of Product
There are different types of blades for different applications, as well. For example, some for hand-held or floor grinders, some for walk-behind concrete saws, wet or dry. Consult with a professional diamond blade dealer if you’re unsure which type of blade you need for your equipment or project.
