Why You Need A Wall BedSubmitted by mjjames1 Fri, 12 Dec 2008
If you’re short of space in your home, perhaps now is the time to consider a wall bed. Wall beds are a fantastic way of saving space, and making better use of the space that you do have.
Modern wall beds are available in horizontal or vertical styles, to suit all sorts of room shapes. Long thin rooms will benefit from a vertical bed, that has the headboard end attached to the wall, whilst short wider rooms can take advantage of beds that are attached to the wall on one side. Single beds, double beds and even bunk beds are available as wall beds. This increases the versatility of the room, and ensures that whatever the room is used for during the day, whoever needs to sleep there at night, can do in complete comfort and safety. There a vast number of styles of wall beds available. Modern minimalistic designs look great for a stylish apartment. Bunk beds or bright colours are perfect for children’s bedroom or perhaps for the playroom, when other children come to stay. Traditional wooden furniture styles can look like high quality office furniture, and could be a welcome addition to a professional environment such as in a home office. Wall beds are often designed to look like a wardrobe when they are not in use. They can also be designed to be dual purpose, such as a sofa for during the day, a dining table as the focal point of a room, and a usable bookcase that doesn’t have to be emptied before it can be used. For the more discerning, wall beds can even be revolving and include additional storage space. Wall beds can be a great addition to a home, and a lack of space doesn’t mean that you can’t have another bedroom. Wall beds are much nicer than a camp bed, a futon, or an inflatable mattress for guests, and will be a topic of conversation for whoever sleeps there. The increase in the number of people working from home, or needing a home office, means that many houses are in effect losing a room. A home office is often a spare bedroom that has been transformed into an office perhaps with the addition of a desk and a filing cabinet. Depending on the size of the house and the room, this could mean that there isn’t realistically room for a bed and a wardrobe , and so the bedroom stops being a bedroom. With a wallbed, however, the room can be an office during the day, and can still be used as a bedroom at night. Also, what could be better than getting out of bed and immediately being in the office?! As well as in a domestic environment, wallbeds can be used in commercial settings too. Hospitals could take advantage of wall beds for parents and relatives who stay over. Restaurants could install wall beds for staff who work late and then need to be at the restaurant early in the morning. Hotels could provide a discreet additional guest bed in some rooms or suites. Now you now more about Wall Beds, isn’t it time you thought about which room yours is going to go in?
