Confidence is the key

It seems to have fallen to women to be the ones who entice the male into a sexual frenzy, and she does this by wearing exotic, erotic and unusual clothes. It goes without saying that the world has become increasingly body conscious over the past decades - take a look at any disco these days and you would be hard pressed to wonder what some of those young ladies were dressing for! However, when it comes to matters of the boudoir, women have this art of dressing down to a fine art.

Because of the ‘sexual revolution' that probably started in the 1970s, many companies have sprung up offering all kinds of sexy and alluring lingerie. This is great news for women because where there is competition, there is choice, and the choice is vast in this instance.

With the advent of modern materials, comfortable, enthralling items have been manufactured and women of the world are taking up the challenge very vigorously. Gone are the days when a woman would be demure and wait for the man to make the first move. These days, even women are being accused of being ‘sexual predators' but with a twist. They are more likely to keep their men intrigued in the bedroom by dressing in some very provocative outfits rather than go out ‘on the prowl' as men have been doing since time immemorial.

What is great about this phenomenon is that women have finally ‘come out of the closet' and they are not afraid to show that they are sexual beings. Apart from being a wife, mother, sister or aunt, she can also be a siren when needs be. Men, of course, are reaping the benefits in that they do not always have to be the instigators of any fun and games at home anymore. This empowers the woman to feel confident, attractive and appealing to the man in question. Many women used to feel a little jaded by the mundane routine of family life, but this exciting, new style of lingerie permits them to be anything they want albeit in the privacy of their own homes.

Of course, it is not always necessary to dress up, or down, to keep the man interested. But it has become somewhat of a given, particularly on a honeymoon, for the woman to wear something that will tempt the new husband into consummating the contract of marriage. But this now runs over into everyday life and, particularly for special occasion, she will normally wear something a little different to show him how much she still loves and cares for him.

Men will also join in the fun by actually buying lingerie and underwear for the women in their lives. It used to be that men would be too shy to do this and would lurk around lingerie departments waiting for some kind assistant to take pity on him and put him out of his misery by assisting him! However, with the advent of the internet, and all it offers, men can now go online and shop quite freely for even the most sexually explicit outfits that would make many blush.

And what a choice they have! For the bride, in particular, there are many lacy, flimsy articles to choose from. Some come complete with veil, garter and Basques made up of the most beautifully crafted lace knits. Imagine the young (or not so young) woman, fresh from the wedding, dressing up in what can probably be described as a ‘mock up' of the wedding outfit itself. Only this time with a lot more on show and only for a private audience of one! This would also suit those celebrating wedding anniversaries too.

For the more naughty nights (perhaps date night when the children have been packed off to a relative or sitter - or the couple take an overnight in a motel) there are many outfits that will fit the bill. Corsets with suspenders and stockings have always been a firm favorite amongst men but this time they come in a literal rainbow of colors. For the really adventurous there are peep-hole bras and crotch-less panties.

Most people opt for the more seductive and/or outrageous outfits to be completely different. Many corsets, and even dresses, come in leather or shiny black plastic and literally stretch tight over the lady's form. There is just something about a very tight outfit that gets men excited and these outfits fit the bill perfectly.

Then the choice of thongs - all the rage these days - is endless with many being made of what looks like a piece of very fine string! But these come in bejeweled pieces made of pearls, crystals or rhinestone, and although they may not be very comfortable - the watchword of many housewives - they are really not meant to be worn for very long!

Body stockings also make a statement although many women would cry off showing every lump and bump on her body, particularly if she has had children. But many throw caution to the wind and wear them anyway. You see, confidence is what carries people over those body sensitive issues. Rather be a little less than perfect aesthetically and confident than scared to try something out. In that instance, many of the clothes meant to instigate sexual excitement now come in many sizes and even the larger ladies are catered for fully. ‘Naughty nurse' style outfits are also supremely popular and can be bought in the larger sizes too.

The ubiquitous negligee sets are still popular and they have their place in the bedroom. Most of these come in a multitude of colors and fabrics and still get men in the mood if worn on the right occasion.
