Tips on How to Install a Bathroom Mirror

Submitted by thonyodwens

A mirror is always essential in a bathroom, otherwise a bathroom would never be complete without it. No matter what shape, style, or size your bathroom mirror is, it is very vital in for personal grooming and other purposes.

But would you want to know how to install a mirror without having to pay somebody else for the job? This article can give you the basics on how to install a regular rectangular or square mirror yourself. If the mirror you intend to install has another shape, such as oval, you may improvise the process of installing it.

The Things You Need

There are four materials that you would need to prepare prior to the installation. One would be a level, an flat device that can be used to determine, support or adjust your mirror onto the wall. To secure your mirrors, you would also need L-shaped clips that usually com with the bathroom mirror when you purchased it. If they are not available, you can buy these clips at hardware stores, but make sure that they are the exact thickness of your mirror. You would also need screws, a drill, a pencil, and tape measure.

The Installation Process

The installation process is relatively easy; it may even consume less than one hour. First, locate on your bathroom wall where you want the bottom of the mirror to be, and place the level there. Then draw a straight horizontal line longer than the width of your bathroom mirror. Next measure your mirror's width, then make two marks on the line you drew indicating the bottom corners of your mirror. Install the first two clips on the marks using the screw and drill.

Then, measure the height of your Bathroom Mirror. Draw a vertical line with the exact height measurement from the bottom of the first two clips you installed. Then make another two marks indicating the top corners of your mirror. Aftre verifying that the distance between the top marks are the exact width of your mirror, install the last two clips. Be sure your clips are secure. Then it is time to position you mirror into the clips to hold it in place.

If you can follow these steps meticulously and observe safety precautions, you would have a problem-free installment of your bathroom mirror. Install it yourself without paying another person to do it for you.
