Your Outdoor Privacy Screen Has Many Uses

Submitted by outdooriron

Outdoor privacy screens serve more functions than just supplying privacy from snoopy neighbors. They can be a beauty to the eyes and far reaching to the heart. They can turn a house into a home and patio into a refuge. Let us explore some options!

Not to long ago a friend and I went of vacation to Gatlinburg, TN. We rented a cozy little cabin in the mountains of the blue ridge. It was a great trip but the thing I remember the most was the first night. The cabin next to us had a jacuzzi on the back deck and no privacy screen. Unfortunately we witnessed more that night than we had desired too. The installation of an outdoor privacy screen isn't always for your benefit but perhaps for the benefit of others. Keep this in mind when designing your projects that sometimes they can be for the enjoyment of others as well.

They can be used to line a section of fencing in the yard, a side of your deck, and even provide shade from the sun on a hot July afternoon. My personal favorite type of outdoor decor is wrought iron. Whenever possible I like to use it and it works great in the outdoors also. As it ages it becomes a dark reddish rustic color blending in to it's surroundings. The earthy color it produces provides wonderful color contrast to a number of different types of vine growing plants. You may enjoy using your iron screen as a trellis and supporting the vine growing trumpet, hydrangea, morning glory or many others!

Sadly the second night of our vacation we had lost all interest in enjoying our back deck overlooking the blue ridge mountains. Mostly because the mountains weren't the only thing we witnessed the night before. Think about others, it will go a long ways in making your place a refuge more enjoyable. Regardless of what plants you choose to incorporate into your wrought iron decor, if any, know that privacy isn't alway just for your benefit!
