Creating A Celebrity Baby Nursery

Submitted by Article Submitter12
Sun, 8 Feb 2009

Creating a celebrity nursery need not break the bank. The desire to do so is no longer reserved for Hollywood A-listers. Every baby is special and naturally only the very best will do. Thanks to magazines like OK! We know that J Lo had this crib and Marcia Cross chose this one. Now an ocean themed nursery need not be a room plastered with Finding Nemo posters. Arm yourself with enough celeb magazines featuring the room you want and let's get started!

The secret about copying a look is not to copy the look but go for the feel. Every home is different and other factors were taken into account like amount of light that's let in and at what times of the day, the age of the house, etc. The first point to take in is the size of your room. This is important because size matters when designing your nursery. You may not be able to go with the exact colors as the original if your room is challenged by size. If that's the case go for a much lighter shade in the same colour palette. Murals are a popular choice amongst celebs. A muralist is brought in to tell a story on the walls. You can purchase wall murals which are a very good substitute. They come in rolls and can be applied as easily as wallpaper.
Next comes the furniture. Safety is paramount when choosing baby furniture so any furniture chosen should have met safety standards for materials and construction quality, usually denoted by certification markings. Don't be tempted to throw in all the furniture your celeb choice uses. This is especially true if room size is an issue. Furniture should be selected with your lifestyle and personal taste in mind. The basics needed in a nursery include somewhere to sleep, somewhere to store things and a place to rock and coo at baby. Is the furniture wood or iron? Is it modern or antique? Distressed finishes mimics the look and markings of aged furniture. So you can purchase a cot that looks like it's been handed down for generations.

Choosing bedding is fun! There's so much out there and it is easy to get carried away. The basic requirements for cot bedding are bumper, cot sheets and bed skirt. A lot of bedding sets also come with matching cot quilts, nappy stackers and even toy bags. A lot of celeb nurseries adorn the windows with coordinating window dressings; even the glider can be made in a complementary fabric. Don't pick a bold pattern and simply roll with it all over the room. Pick colours out of a pattern you love. Made to order bedding gives you the freedom to express your personal style while incorporating your chosen magazine look.

Room dcor adds the finishing touch to the perfect nursery and can you believe you can have the celebrity nursery look with just the right dcor, not including the bedding and furniture?
