But because bipolar disorder targets your child's mental and emotional well-being, it impairs him from functioning normally in his day-to-day life. Answering yes to majority of them serves as your alert to seek psychiatric for a more accurate diagnosis of your child's condition.

Does your child become very anxious or afraid whenever you had to leave them on their own at home (even for just a short period of time) to attend to other important errands/matters?

Does your child have a ballistic temper, resulting to explosive expressions of rage whenever he is upset or vexed?

Does your child hear imaginary voices or have delusions and hallucinations?

Does he skip school or classes often?

Does he always contemplate on running away?

Does your child precociously touch himself or behave provocatively or sexually towards others?

Is his sleeping pattern characterized by a combination of extremes: insomniac episodes and oversleeping?
