Loft/bunk beds have been very popular since its inception due to its amazing space saving features. They have been more popular in Kids room and dormitories fro their unique features.

A loft/bunk bed is basically a type of bed in which one bed frame is stacked on top of another. If you are looking for ideas on how to increase your usable floor space and increase storage room in your house.

Bunk beds are supported by four poles, one at each corner of the bed. To get to the second bunk on top, a ladder is used. The top bed is normally surrounded by a railing to prevent the child from falling out.

Wooden loft beds are generally heavy and are bolted very tightly together, so they do not shake or wobble. They are generally made of pine and are available in different sizes, including single, double, king size and super king size.

Some of the things that need to be taken care of while selecting loft beds are:

• Check for solid hardwood construction for durability.
• The bed should not have sharp edges.
• For optimal use, it is better if the bed has a built-in desk and bookshelves.
• Ensure that it has guardrails that have no more than three inches of space between the rail and the mattress.

And if you thought that Bunk beds are just for children or dormitories, it can be used even for adults. Generally, students prefer to use these beds as they are economically feasibly and a great space saver.

Buying a good set of bunk beds can have definite advantages for growing families with children. Many bunk beds are designed so they can be separated into two beds which can be a very important consideration when kids are involved. As the kids grow, they may want their bed in their own room.

There are also loft bunk beds which are not only space savers but also have a lot of storage space in them. A loft bunk bed is technically defined as a bunk bed in which the top of the mattress is more than three feet from the floor. Loft bunk beds can include both a desk and drawers underneath the twin bed on top.

With storage and space crunches being effectively taken care off, there is little doubt that Loft/bunk beds is an effective and sensible choice as bedroom furniture at all times.
