An Overprotective Father

Submitted by Elena Tentser
Tue, 28 Apr 2009

Francisco Sandoval from Delavan, WI was known as a good man who built a comfortable, happy life and home for his family. He was respected as a wise, hard-working patriarch with a large clan. The Sandovals had many children, most now married with their own children, and Francisco was a devoted husband, father and grandfather.

That is why everyone was shocked when Sandoval went off the deep end on October 2, 2005 and shot his son-in-law multiple times. Apparently, the son-in-law and his wife, one of Francisco's daughters, had an argument, and she fled to her parents' home in tears. She reportedly told the family about her husband's threats to kill her family and burn down their house.

In the morning, the husband went looking for his wife at the store she owned, and came face to face with her father lying in wait for him. No one knows if they exchanged words, but witnesses saw Sandoval walk up to his son-in-law's car and fire multiple shots; he then got into his car and drove away.

As a result of the shooting, the young man was paralyzed and confined to a wheelchair. He died several months later.

When police came to Sandovals' residence with a search warrant, Francisco Sandoval was gone. Authorities believe that family members helped Sandoval elude capture by transporting him across the border to Mexico and moving him to different locations. According to the rumors in Delavan, Mrs. Sandoval frequently goes to Mexico to visit her husband.

The above account is based on a true story. Background checks protect peaceful citizens from being deceived and/or harmed by a cunning criminal.
