It is not very difficult to care for pet rabbits. Many potential owners are scared when they were asked to take care of rabbits because there are so few information about pet rabbits care. You just need to exercise some common sense when it comes to caring for your pet rabbits.
Good pet rabbit care involve providing housing, food, protection and recreational activities. This can be dead simple only if you understand about your rabbit. Rabbits have only been bred for domestic pets for less than one century. This resulted in the rabbits still retaining much of their wild cousin’s behaviour. Let’s start with the housing. You can easily keep your pet rabbit indoor. Keeping rabbits outdoor will expose them to a lot of threat. You can easily keep your house intact even if your rabbits are kept indoor. You should bunny-proof your house when keeping rabbits indoor. Electrical cables should be wrapped with PVC tubing. Your rabbits can be easily trained to use the litter box. You should supervise your rabbits, especially younger ones, when they are let out of their cage. As they get more matured, they will be better disciplined. Rabbits are habitual creature, and as long as you understand their behaviour, you can easily train them. Rabbits are most active during dawn and dusk time. They nap most of their time. That is why rabbits are good pets for working adults. They are also not noisy and this makes them excellent to be kept even in apartments. Rabbits seldom fall sick. As long as you know how to handle your pet rabbits properly, they do not get injured easily. Sometimes they may injure themselves and you should bring them to the vet. Rabbits that are always kept in the cage do not have enough exercise and may develop hind leg paralysis. Get larger breed rabbit if you have small children at home. This is so that the larger breed rabbit will not be so easily injured by the child. Children that are not taught on how to handle rabbit may injure the rabbit. As a conclusion, caring for your pet rabbit may be easier than you think. All that is needed is some common sense and it will be easier if you try to understand your rabbit’s behaviour.
