Getting good rabbit toys for your rabbit is important if you want to keep your rabbit healthy. Toys stimulate the rabbit’s mind and provide him with physical exercise. You can even bunny-proof your house with toys. Rabbits that do not have toys get bored very easily.
Rabbits may sink into depression and will have destructive behaviour if they are bored. Provide safe chewing and digging toys for your rabbits, and your rabbits will not turn itself on your furniture. If you are choosing a first toy for your rabbits, be prepared to be rejected. Soon you will learn how to choose the right type of toys for your rabbits. All rabbits have different tastes towards different toys. The good news is that your rabbits do not care whether the toys are expensive or cheap. So long as they love it, they will continue playing with it. In choosing toys for your rabbits, you should observe your rabbit’s behaviour. Some rabbits will just love hiding behind a cut-out cardboard box while others love decorating things by rearranging them around. They are different toys suited to different nature of rabbits. Rabbits also have their own ways of how they want to play with the toys. Generally, all rabbits love to burrow, dig, throw, climb and chew. Most rabbits love tunnels. You can buy one or make one out of cardboard boxes. You can also provide some old newspaper for them to dig. The tunnels can also be re-arranged in different configuration or placed at different part of the house to make it interesting for the rabbits. A thick phone directory is excellent to satisfy your rabbit’s chewing behaviour. A wicker basket filled with hay or shredded newspaper will be just as suitable. You can also buy a grass mat for the rabbits to dig. Shredding off paper is by itself not harmful, but it can be quite messy sometimes. You can also provide your rabbits with toilet roll for them to chew and to toss them around. Some owners have even successfully play tossing around with their rabbits. There are also plenty of chew toys made of wood or mineral stones that you can buy from your local pet stores. To conclude, all pet rabbits have different behaviour when it comes to rabbits toys.
