Many pet rabbits owner have difficulty in finding proper rabbit names for their pet rabbits. There are numerous sources on the best names to be given to your pet rabbits.
Some suggested that you name your rabbits after some character in your favourite book. Some others suggest human names such as Edward, Lucy, and etc. There are also other suggestion to name your pet rabbits after famous city in the world. You can even name your pet rabbits after some famous musician! While many of the above suggestions sound terrific, you may want to consider the following tips when giving rabbit names to your long-ear friends. You should pick a name that your pet rabbit can easily recognise. Limit your pet rabbit's name to two-syllable names. It is fun and easy to have rabbit names that end with "ie" or "y". The names usually are easy to call too. Examples of rabbit's names that end with "ie" or "y" include Barney, Fluffy and Lily. Choose a rabbit's name that you will not feel embarrassed to call out loud. For example, the name Joey is a better name for you and your pet rabbit compared to the name "Jack the Ripper", although the latter name may reflect your rabbit's nature of always wanting to rip off something in your house. Again, this is very personal, and you should just give your pet rabbit names that you feel most comfortable with. Avoid rabbit names that sound like command word. Examples of these include the name Joe, which your pet rabbit may easily confuse with the command word "No." You do not need to hurry yourself to give your pet rabbit name on the first day you brought him home. You may want to observe him for the first week to observe his behaviour and character. If you have a happy rabbit, you may call him "Happy". On the other hand, if your rabbit is always grumpy, you can try calling him "Grumpy", although we are not sure if you would want to do that. Other common names that pet rabbit owner gave to their pet rabbits that matches some characteristic include "Spotty", "Brownie" and "Fluffy." You do not need to be over-creative in coming out with pet rabbit's names. Just come out with names that is easy to pronounce and that you feel comfortable with. Once you name your pet rabbits, use it as often with him. Always reward and praise your rabbit whenever he seems to respond to his name. Many pet rabbits like to be petted. As you pet and bond with your rabbit everyday, call out their name in a soothing and gentle voice.
