How to Get Healthy Pregnancy Naturally?

Submitted by petersonbran

The two important omega 3 fatty acids are DHA and EPA, with DHA being responsible for most of the health benefits to mother and baby, so any good supplement will have higher levels of DHA.

It is important to note that cod liver oil should be avoided, especially during pregnancy as it contains high levels of vitamin A and D which can become toxic at high levels. Although traditionally a mother's favorite many years ago, we now know the risks associated with it better, plus it does not contain as much omega-3 as other fish like Hoki and Tuna for example.

Look for a higher DHA content than EPA, as it is more important. Avoid those products which do not give you a breakdown of the EPA and DHA content, as they are not providing the important details and are sub standard products. Look for supplement products that contain around 300 to 500 mg of Omega 3 fatty acids in each soft gel. The recommended dosage of Omega 3s that can be taken through omega 3 pregnancy formula is around 1000 milligrams or 1 gm per day. Look for supplements that are in a soft gel form as they are quite easy to swallow.

A higher amount of DHA over EPA should be present to get the full benefits available, and you should be able to see the individual amounts on the label or website. Look for around 250mg DHA per soft gel or capsule. The higher the purity and DHA, the higher the benefits to mother and baby will be, it's as simple as that! To help give your baby the best start in life, and to help you maintain optimum health as well, taking a daily omega 3 supplement will greatly add to your nutrition during pregnancy, helping to ensure both mother and baby maintain the best of health.

Eating fish, particularly oil rich varieties such as salmon, trout, and sardines is good for you, especially during pregnancy. The oils in fatty fish contain particular omega3 fatty acids not found naturally in other foods that are essential pregnancy food for the healthy development of brain, retina, and nervous tissue of your child. Omega3's must be obtained from foods because the body cannot make them from other fats. Although fish is a pregnancy food must, it may contain contaminants such as mercury, among others, that are harmful to your developing baby.

A double dose of fatigue during pregnancy caused by an unhealthy nutritional reserve: Prior pregnancy many men and women are depleted in vitamins and minerals because of our lifestyles and the food we eat. Vitamins and minerals are essential in building healthy cells and organs. Many miscarriages are caused by abnormal eggs and sperms due to the lack of adequate vitamins and minerals in the cells prior to conception.

Minerals are important during pregnancy for a number of reasons. If you don't have enough calcium to provide to your baby as he begins to form bones and teeth, your body will naturally compensate by pulling these critical minerals from your own teeth and hair. This is why many women get more cavities and have brittle, dull hair during pregnancy. In addition, adequate levels of calcium may prevent preeclampsia during late pregnancy. Of course, there is the added benefit of avoiding excess leg or muscle cramps, common in pregnant women.
