It can be a challenge for parents to entertain their children in the summer. School is out, learning has stopped, and play mode is in full swing. Sending your children to summer camps can be expensive and only last a week or so which makes that option a temporary fix. Family vacations are also fun summer activities, but like summer camps they only last a limited amount of time and can be too expensive for some families. There needs to be activities for your children to do when they aren't on vacation or at a camp. For families that live in places where the temperatures reach the triple digits, it can be difficult to find an activity to occupy your children during the day when playing inside is the only option. Building blocks are a great choice because they allow your children to let their imaginations go wild. If it's not too hot for your children to play outside, there a lot of fun games and activities that can be entertaining as well as educational. A fun way to connect with your children is to teach them games you played as a kid like hop scotch or tetherball. If you have the time, and there is a state park near you, take your children on a hike.
