Wedding Hair Accessories - Protect against Loss or Damage

Submitted by Josie Anderson

Your wedding insurance will usually pay up to the amount stated in your wedding insurance policy schedule of cover for the replacement or repair of bridal and ceremonial attire such as hair pieces. You do have to make sure you take care of your hair accessories however, as your claim will only be valid if the wedding attire is lost or damaged whilst you or a close relative are looking after it. There will usually be a time limit both before and after the big day.

You may have given a great deal of thought to your hairstyle on your wedding day. Will you be wearing it up or down and will you have it curled or straightened? Will you do it yourself, or will you leave it to a professional? The way the bride wears her hair can make a big impact - but it isn't just about the style you go for, it's also about the accessories you use to embellish that style.

Tiaras have become increasingly popular in recent years. Queen Elizabeth II is said to have the largest and most valuable collection of tiaras in the world [1]; but jewelled hair accessories aren't only reserved for royalty - they can make a stunning addition to your wedding attire too.

If the idea of a tiara doesn't appeal, have you considered diamond-encrusted clips? These can be hired for the day and add a subtler sparkle and Hollywood elegance to your look. Subtler still is the addition of small, embellished pins to any hairstyle as attaching cut crystals to hairpins can have a staggering effect. When you turn your head, these small glistening stones will catch the light, adding a twinkling shimmer as you make your way down the aisle.

Whether you decide to buy or hire your hair pieces, reputable wedding insurance policies should cover lavish hair accessories in their policy. A bit of sparkle added to your lovely locks could be the finishing touch you've been looking for.
