Funding Ideas For People With Special Needs

Extra funds to help pay for loved ones with special needs and elder care takes some investigation. Seniors are often reluctant to spend money on additional services when they are on a fixed income.

There are pilot programs that allocate funds that will help nursing home residents relocate back to independent living. This can be a boon to those who live month to month on a fixed income. You will want to contact your State Department of Aging to see if they participate in this federal grant program.

Health Care Funding

Many families these days do not have a health plan that covers basic health care. And this is a difficult situation. Some health care professionals do offer discounted rates, however. You just need to ask.

Often, health care providers will discount their office visit rates to match what they would have received from an insurance provider.

Organizations can provide free referral services; they help match seniors and families to a variety of senior resources. They include in home care providers and senior housing alternatives.

Free Senior Programs

Some additional examples include programs for seniors with low income include Meals-on-Wheels and Community Care Programs.

Home modifications have various funding sources, too. You will find many programs for enhanced volume phones and local transportation programs. Imagine grandpa actually using the phone when he forgets to put on his hearing aids!

Free Government Grant Money

You can find free money from government grants even if you have bad credit. There is rarely a credit check for these grant programs. Grants are free money that you never have to pay back.

There are many different uses and many different purposes for free federal grant money. These free funds can help you to start a business so that you are better off. Or consider using these funds to expand your existing business.

Personal grants can be used to purchase a home or to repair an existing home. Government personal grants can be used toward making your monthly payments, and even to help with childcare.

There are also health care grants. These grants can help with medical bills. Health care government grants can be helpful with the rising cost of health care especially for the elderly.

Use Pre-Paid Insurance Policies

One more consideration is the use of a loved one's life insurance policy to help pay for Assisted Living or even Nursing Home care. With these funds available, you can smartly maintain the standards of living for the aging parent.

Many such policies have cash values that can easily be converted into immediate funds. In lieu of letting a policy lapse, or waiting until the benefits begin, smart families are looking into life cashing out these policies as a funding source for the high expense of senior care.
