When you are just starting in affiliate marketing, one of the most important things you need to learn more about is the traffic, specifically what it is and how to get it. Why?

Because although it is a bit of becoming a cliché these days, the truth is that "money is on the list" - that means that "your" list and not the list of the person your are selling the products for.

Here's why. As an affiliate, your job is to find people who want to buy products you're promoting, right? So to do that, you need to write an advertisement, either by hiring an editor or write it yourself, and then, send people to the website where they can purchase the product from.

But - there is a serious problem with using this method. Do you see what it is?

Anywhere from 60 of the people who is sent to a sales page will not buy the first time.

They are most likely doing some research first.

1. Most people want to be sure they are taking the right decision, so they usually need to see or hear from you between 5 to 12 times before making a purchase decision.

2. If you are paying for the ad and sending people to the seller's website, those who do not buy will disappear forever.

3. Of those who buy, if you're only sending them to the sales page, you are still loosing some part of that sale because there is no way you can contact them again.
