The quick and easy formula for successful affiliate marketingSubmitted by edgar.boutaric1@gmail.com Sat, 18 Jul 2009
I bet you are frustrated with the amount of income that you get through affiliate marketing. While others are earning thousands of dollars you might be struggling to get ten dollars. So what does the other affiliate marketers have more than you? Personally I have also gone through this situation until I find out the difference between the other marketers and me. The main difference lies in the area of market research,
In real life, companies conduct market research in order to find out if there is a demand for their product or not. Marketing companies will conduct surveys, send out questionnaires and analyze the data using complex statistical package in order to determine whether a product can be marketed or not. In affiliate marketing it should also be the same. I am not saying that you should pay a research company but you should at least investigate certain aspects of the product. Let's take an example how market research can help you. There can be a good product that is paying an above average commission let's say 60%. You seem so excited to market the product and begin to set up a website. You invest in advertising and other ways to drive traffic to your site. However sales do not follow. You ask yourself where you went wrong. Then you realize. There is no demand for this product. You thought that you had a winner on your hand but only to realize that this type of product is available freely on the Internet. If you had done a bit of research you will have easily noticed this. So how do you conduct the research? The first thing that you will need to find out is whether people are searching for the products online. You can easily do this by using a keyword research tool such as Google external tool which will help you find out the approximate amount of search made for a given keyword. It is can also be worthwhile to visit certain forums on your particular niche in order to find out what other people are looking for. You can also participate in the forums in order to find out what information and tools people are looking for. This will help you to determine whether there is a demand or not for a product. Finally I will advise you to use your common sense. Visit the sales page, visit the affiliate page if it has one and read feedbacks on the product. Does it seem like a scam? If you doubt expect other people also to have some doubts. Your common sense can prevent you from getting into trouble. There is really some interesting money that can be made from affiliate marketing. If you conduct your marketing research well you should be able to determine the products that consumers are craving for and adapt your strategy accordingly.
