The Tools You Need To Research Potential Affiliates

Submitted by Anna Poelo

For those of you hoping to make it big as a successful affiliate manager, it helps to learn from the best and experienced ones in the field. Many of them would also be willing to teach you their strategies and how to get where they are right now. Garrett Robins is one of these successful affiliate managers, with over seven years of experience in the business.

One particular advice that Garrett Robins would give to aspiring affiliate managers would be to research the potential affiliates. There are a few tools you can use to help you in this important task. Some are free while some are not but all will be worth your time and money especially when used efficiently and effectively.

One of the tools that has been tested to be a very helpful tool in researching for potential affiliates is the Alexa tool bar. This tool bar lets us see relevant information about a site --- the name of the owner of the site, his or her email address, physical address, contact phone number, and other information like the other websites created by the named owner. We will also get to see other sites that are related to the site.

The Google toolbar is also a great tool in looking for potential affiliates. This toolbar shows the page rank of a website, and page rank, as we all know, in this business, counts a lot when looking for great partnerships and affiliates. We usually go for sites that are ranked high, preferably ranked around four or five.

These two are especially important in your search for affiliates because of the information they give about a website. If you are going to be building a business relationship with someone over the Web, then it is really important that you find out what you can about that person and his business first. You'll also need his or her information in order to start communications between the two of you.

Another tool that you can use to help cut your research time and be more efficient with your work is the SEO Elite. This is not a free tool; it is a paid software. It will help you pull up related web sites to your selected keyword. It will also help you in pulling up certain information like the site's page rank, site owner information, and many more, and all in a short amount of time. You can export the resulting list of sites and information to an Excel file, and you can then start going over the sites and the names for potential affiliates.

With these tools at your disposal, surely you won't be having a hard time looking for the affiliates you need. Just take a look at how successful affiliate managers have done in the past to get where they are now, and the changes and additions that made to further improve their business strategies. Just looking at how far they have come should be enough that we should not ignore advice like the one above given by Garret Robins. It has been tested and these tools have been proven to be a great help to researching for potential affiliates.

Garrett Robins is the affiliate manager for SublimeNet Inc., and is experienced in the ups and downs of affiliate marketing. He also works for DotComSecrets, and can be found in Facebook and LinkedIn. Along with Russel Brunson and BJ Wright, he has been very successful in his ventures in the Internet.
