What You Need To Know About Sending A Tweet On TwitterSubmitted by step88 Wed, 10 Jun 2009
In order to get followers on your Twitter page, you have to tweet posts to your site. When you are sending a tweet, it should be posts that people are interested in reading. The more informative posts that you put on your Twitter page, the more followers will be interested in what you have to say.
Sending a tweet is the way that you communicate to your followers on Twitter. You start by going to the prompt that says "What are you doing?" This is where you type in a tweet and press the "Update" button. Keep in mind that Twitter will only allow you to type 140 characters and not a character more. When you are sending a tweet, think about what you want to say. Since the response will be short, whatever you send should be of great importance. You want your tweets to have meaning and substance. Followers on your Twitter site will be eager to read them. If followers send you tweets, you will want to reply to them. When you are sending a tweet back as a reply, you can hit the reply button next to the tweet you want to reply to. Your reply should be directly related to the tweet that was sent to you. Keep the reply short and simple. Sending a tweet on Twitter helps you to establish a relationship with your followers. You send a tweet to them, and they will send one back to you. At first, you may think that 140 characters is not enough to say what you need to. However, you can find ways to get your point across and not overdoing it. When you are sending a tweet, be careful not to post complaints about other people or companies that you have dealt with in the past. In fact, it's not a good idea to talk negatively about your job on your Twitter website. Try to keep all of your tweets on the positive level. Besides, your followers can get turned off by constant complaining. Another thing not to do when sending a tweet on twitter is not to blatantly advertise or promote your business. That's not to say that you can't mention it, but make it a subtle move when you do. If you constantly tweet about your business, then your followers can stop tweeting you. You will end up losing most if not all of your core base. You have to establish a relationship with them and gain their trust. They also need to gain your trust as well. By promoting your business right off the bat and then constantly mentioning it won't do you any good. Using proper etiquette when sending a tweet can help you keep followers coming to your Twitter site.
