Can Chiropractors Increase Business by Having a Website?Submitted by Erik Heyl Thu, 12 Mar 2009
I'm sure wherever you live you seen more than one in town. Chiropractors that is. With the increased interest in keeping healthy no matter what the age, chiropractors seem to have thriving practices no matter where they are.
In fact, based on my own experience, some chiropractors would need to be twins just to handle the constant influx of patients coming through their doors. Many a time did I show up to my appointment for him to tell me he was a little behind. I never had an issue with this as that meant that a) he knew what he was doing and b) he was a good "people" person. Upon suggestion that he have a website, he mentioned that walk-ins and word of mouth were doing so well he didn't see why he should have one. But the reasons are clear: by having a website not only is he opening himself up to more potential clients, he has the opportunity to brand himself as THE expert in the area, and do it cheaply too! He also allows his current patients to have another way to contact him. And his website is modular, able to change with new services he offers, if he takes on new staff, or has a special event. As he publishes articles in trade publications he also has the option of publishing them to his website as well. This will ensure that the website stays up to date and fresh as well as giving him the opportunity to brand the website as authoritative over time, as once it is published on the Internet it will stay there and more and more people will find it. Another reason for chiropractors to have a website is simply that more and more people are turning to the Internet as their first method of finding what they need. Although we still have the yellow pages and yearly phone books, most people find it faster just to "google" what they need and make their choice that way. If a company doesn't have a site, it may be seen as potentially shady. Often a website helps form the customer's (or patient's) initial impression of the company. A nicely built, responsive and INFORMATIVE site goes a long way to helping build trust in the customer. It is also where the customer can gather information relevant to them and do so quicker than by phoning in. And it is more reliable as well. Whereas secretaries can get sick, fired, or not answer the phone by letting it go to voice mail, a website is always up and running. Finally, unlike other forms of traditional advertising (yellow pages, radio or television), a website is fairly cheap to set up and maintain. Most hosting companies offer plans that are quite inexpensive, discounts if you pay for 6 months or one year, and offer templates to get you setup quickly.
A website can be an integral part of any chiropractor's business if done right. To learn more go to: The Chiropractor Blueprint.
