Chris Broadhurst Shares Tips And Tricks With Website Design Basics

Website Design Basics There are basic rules of good design to keep in mind. To start, I would recommend using Google & searching for 'website design basics' , 'website design tips' etc.

Website

Website Content: Use proper color, text size and fonts for your content. Website Content should be short, meaningful and understandable. Websites should be functional first, eye-catching second. Website loading speed is the most critical factor in layout design and should be your number one website design consideration.

Website design is your face to the world on the Internet. Great website design is the result of careful thought and planning. You decide what to include on your website and how to present it. If you spend time thinking about your website's design before you start building it you will create an excellent site that visitors will return to again and again. People will remember if your website was full of useful information or if it was a jumbled maze full of pop-ups, pop-unders and flashing gifs that they could not make any sense out of. You can make your website a huge success by focusing on solving users' problems. When you visit google's website there is no question who they are and what they do. That is why they have one of the most successful websites ever created.

Preview your website on as many different platforms as possible to eliminate bugs. You want to show your banner on other websites to promote your own site. Dig around for your competitor’s web banner designs, their websites and the web sites on which they promote their banner. Banner design should carry the same colors as your website has and the banner’s color should make a good combination on the website used for advertising it on. If your website contains links to other websites, check it periodically because the target webpage may have been removed or some problem might have cropped up with the web link itself. HTML coupled with CSS( Cascading Style Sheet) based coding of your web pages enables your website not only to load and navigate fast but also to be modified easily at a later stage if need be. Content should be written in a flow aimed at clarifying all visitor queries and making him/ her feel at home with the website.

Content

Find a niche and provide high-quality, unique content people are looking for. Use fonts that are appropriate to your content. Put your best content at the top of the page. Remember – keeping website content (both text and graphics) short, crisp and simple would do wonders for your business website.

Manage the website content in such a way that it does not need to scroll left or right. If used wisely content can make your webpage load faster. Most common mistake in content is grammatical and spelling mistake. Use different font style to make content more interesting. Build your website to your target audience, in terms of style and content.

Well-written web sites with pertinent content will rank higher in searches. If you are at a loss for content, start with the Overture keyword suggester. These keywords are your subject starters and the content of your site should be built upon them. Links need to be on topic and to quality content all across your site. A menu that is present on every page should link to your sites main "topic index" pages (the doorways and logical navigation system down into real content). Google loves content, lots of quality content.
