The Internet is a global organization of interconnected computers to share information, resources and views with millions of private and public, academic, business, and government networks. Internet connection can be built with dial up connection or it can be a broadband connection. Sometimes the working speed is affected by the stability of internet connection, but the stability of internet connection is not the only factor to be taken in consideration.

There are many Internet Service Providers (ISP) in the market providing high speed internet connection like BSNL, MTNL, CellOne, Airtel, Tata Indicom etc. A user can itself make optimum utilization of the internet connection by considering the following significant tips in mind:-

Select correct Browser: Web Browser enables the users to interact with other web sites and a correct Web Browser can really affect access speed of internet. As a safety measure, always select a web browser that will help you to save bandwidth. There are many famous web browsers like Internet Explorer, Firefox, Netscape Navigator, Lynx etc. Mozilla’s Firefox is gradually getting popularity amongst internet users because of its astounding features. More so, Firefox comes with a couple of good add-ons such as Adblocker and Flashblocker which aids fast transfer of data on internet.

Avoid auto updates: This is another tip to boost up internet speed i.e. try to avoid auto updates on the internet because these programmes keep downloading latest updates from the Internet as soon as they are available, they end up using precious bandwidth, eventually adding to your bill and as a result the internet bandwidth get chocked in downloading which ultimately affect internet speed.

Go for offline browsing: Offline Browsing is another point which must be taken seriously to amplify internet speed. Offline browsing basically downloads pages from sites that you frequently visit on to your hard disk, thus making them locally available. One such software is Webaroo, which allows offline browsing. The latest version, Webaroo 2, lets you download videos from YouTube, Metacafe, Google Videos and other sites as well as download Flickr Photos by user, group and photoset.

Measure your bandwidth: Measuring bandwidth is a good choice to restrict plans that put download limits on your usage. Bandwidth can be measured easily on the internet. One such software is BitMeter II that tracks your PC’s current download and upload speed and gives you constant update. Other examples includes CodeBox Software and Bit-Meter’s creator that calculates data transfer time.

Compressor programmes: Sending compressed files over internet is a choice to increase its speed. Generally graphic files, images and sound files take more space and utilize more bandwidth than text files, so it is advisable to send compressed files over internet.

At the ending note, we can say that if you keep the above said points in your mind, then it will really help you to boost up your internet speed and you would be able to use maximum bandwidth of your internet connection.
