Usually, the thought of advertising always come as being expensive, or something we can't afford when especially when we budget. But there are several ways to promote your web site that cost almost nothing at all? Yes, that’s true. Almost all are free.
In this article I am going to touch on five methods which you can use to promote your site and get huge credible traffic, and without paying a cent. These are the five methods: 1. Which genius actually thought of Forums Forums are my best avenue to advertise my site for nothing. Why? Because the people who go there are interested in the very thing that you are selling. First, go to a search engine, I prefer Google, and type in your topic plus forums. So if you run an online business selling golf-clubs, type in "golf-clubs + forums". After which your search engine will reply with the list of results. Choose the forums that portray among the highest rankings and the most posts, and then register with them. Hunt out what questions people are asking and the problems they have with regarding to what you sell. Be sure to provide answers to these questions and problems in your site. After the above has been done, proceed to posting replies to these people showing you really understand their problem. Mention the name of your site and suggest to them that the answers in your site contain quality and quantity. Remember to position yourself as an expert and offer opinions from a neutral stand point. Try avoiding words like: “You should …., You must, but Why not… Let’s try”. The logic is simple. Assume you are in a department store getting a facial cleanser. And a salesman is present and he offers you his opinion about a product. There is absolutely no chance of the salesman to recommend you a product not of his company. Why? Because the company pays him to be there and he draws a commission out of a product he manages to sell. His opinions probably are indicating to you that his products are the best and he would do whatever he cans to convince you. When that happens, most likely I wouldn’t buy it, simply because it is not a third-party view. The opinions I receive should not be related to any of the product’s company entity, where in this case, it should be at least a friend, who is not related and not a salesman from the company offering his or her opinions to me. 2. The Links Are Free, Free and Free A survey shows that link partners bring in more traffic than search engines do? So what are you waiting for, do this immediately- Use the search engines to search for popular sites that sell a similar product or service and place a link to them on your site. After don’t hesitate to e-mail the webmaster and enquire if they would make a link to yours. If can, start submitting your site to the many quality online directories. Many of these are completely free. Although they may take time, but the benefits to you are astounding. They will list your site for nothing. I can just see huge amount of traffics coming in from there. 3. What make them tick are articles Writing articles doesn’t require a literary genius to produce, it just takes efforts. If your web site is about golf-clubs, write an article giving tips and tricks on how to use the golf clubs. My goodness, you should know this by the back of your hand. Mention your web site in the concluding paragraph so readers will believe they will find good information there. And always remember to hyperlink it. Proceed on to submit it to article directories. Not only will it show up in the search engines, but, if the content is good, it will be linked by other webmasters looking for content. So you will get more backlinks to your site. Article writing is the backbone for promoting of your business. Not only does it spread knowledge of your name around the Web, it also reveals you as an authority in your field. An example of it shown in the concluding paragraph. 4. Press release- Most people pay to read, so why not you Another driving traffic technique is the use of press releases. Press releases are not as hard as you may think and they really bring in traffic. Get up and practicing, do it right for results to come. They must be brief and punchy. Always ensure the opening paragraph sums up the entire story. Too hard? Try asking yourself this "What would entice interested parties to want to know about this?" - Find out what they want to know and give it to them. As well as sending to local news journals, submit it to online e-zines dealing with your subject. Remember, don't just write one release to send to all - modify them to fit the particular publication. News of your business will soon spread. 5. What is the opposite of online? Offline Last, but certainly not least, publicize your site offline. Talk about it to anyone and exchange name cards to those who listen. Viral Marketing is the best promotion strategy available till now as the impacts are second to none and most importantly, it is free! Insert your web address in your letters and business cards. Put it in the back of your car. Put notices in local shops. No effort is wasted to make people be aware of your business and them promoting for you for free!
