Guess what….each of us has the same 24 hours in each day to achieve all we may have laid out for ourselves to accomplish, whether it is work or pleasure. As most of us also know, with work, children, a spouse, taking care of dinner, dishes, laundry, shopping and all the other things involved in caring for our home, family and work, sometimes it seems we keep running short of time. This is why it becomes increasingly important to discover ways to work smarter, not just harder. For me it seems that no matter how many hours I may spend each week working at my home based business, I can still find and use tips that help me make the best use of my time. Here I want to share some of them with you. I hope you will also find them easy to put into practice and extremely helpful.

Success Tip Number One - Keywords!

I have found and learned that the right keywords are the "life blood" of my online business. Proper selection and use of keywords allows me to produce an article, blog or video once and because I sought out and used strong and effective keywords, people will continue to find my work online for months and years to come.

Let me ask you this, would you rather have someone just "stumble" upon your work or would you like to see your work effectively promoted all over the internet? Of course those just stumbling upon your work are okay but how about getting some top ranking on Google right out of the gate? I know what my goal is! With the proper use of great keywords I can have THOUSANDS of people viewing my work on the internet while I am out relaxing in the sunshine.

Success Tip Number Two - SKIP the Ads

Those of us who work exclusively online know that there are many avenues for free advertising. Craigslist & Back page, just to name a couple. These free resources are good, especially when you are just beginning your online business and have not had the opportunity to get yourself out there too much, HOWEVER, they can become very time consuming and may not be as effective as you might think. You may ask WHY. Although they are free of charge, I have found that you can actually LOOSE a lot of time because you have to post the ads again and again to have effective exposure. Our goal when working online is to find ways and means of duplicating ourselves and our efforts without WASTING our most valuable resource…………TIME.

Success Tip Number Three - Break Time

For those of you who have followed some of my other writings, you already know that I suggest the importance of "time away" from the desk and the computer. I have found that my productivity increases when I remove myself from my online work for short intervals. During the spring and summer my break will be sitting out in the sunshine or spending a few cherished moments working in my flower beds. A 15-30 minute break will bring me back to my work refreshed, invigorated and often with a brand new idea for writing.

Try success tip number three only if you dare and are disciplined enough to come back to your desk!
Okay, so how have you done with the first 3 tips? Have you put them to work for your business. How did it go? Were you able to take those "personal" breaks and come back and feel more energized? If you are a small business entrepreneur your absolutely MUST take the time to blog and more importantly you must take the time to UPDATE your blog. A blog post is such fun and really takes about 15 minutes to update every day or so. Quick and simple. Perhaps you do not consider yourself a good writer. Well even so, believe me; you will become better the more you write. You will be able to knock out a couple of blog posts a week. As you put the earlier success tip number one to work, you will even find blogging made easier and it WILL pay off as well.

So success tip number four……blog your way to success……search engines love blogs.

Success Tip Number Five - Articles

Would you like to know what the most tried and true methods of generating prospect online are? Article marketing, success tip number five. More important it is absolutely free. If you don't feel you are a good writer yet, you can always purchase home based business PLR articles which you can add your own personality to by re-writing them and publish as your own.

Article marketing does take a bit more of your time, but as with other forms of marketing the rewards you reap from your efforts will go on for years and years. Each time someone finds and reads one of your articles, your business will be growing even if you are out "playing" like I am.
