If you are one of those people who still do not understand the term “proxy” when it comes to internet matters, then you better read this article as we explain to you what it is and how it works.

First and foremost, proxies are actually servers that serve as means of connecting you to an internet site that you are attempting to access. As you send a request to a proxy server, it then sends a request to the web and then sends back the same request you sent. With that, you can then comfortably view the site that you are trying to view. In our times, these proxy servers are very useful thats why there are a lot of people and establishments who use them. As an example, proxy servers are being used in different locations like schools, companies, call centers and other similar establishments so they can block sites that actually have offensive content. Another reason for the use of these proxies is that they could also control the access of the customer to the internet. Aside from that, social networking sites such as Facebook, Friendster, MySpace, Twitter and others could also be accessed through these proxies.

Now the challenge here is for the administrator to really make sure that proxies can really function well at all times and could really block inappropriate sites since there is always the tendency that some can learn to navigate and manipulate it. With this, there shows a need for you to get new proxy servers. Another thing, proxies can limit your internet experience sometimes since sites can vary with the proxies that they use and the compatibility may not match at times.
