In the spring 2008, PandaLabs conducted a research that revealed the shocking truth about the state of security of home computers. According to company's report, one out of five computers was found to be infected with malware. This makes it possible to make several conclusions:

1. Consumer antivirus protection may be insufficient, even if you keep it updated with latest anti-malware definitions.
2. Cyber criminals work hard to fool all popular antivirus scanners.
3. There's a steadily growing demand for software that can compensate the lacunas of major antivirus programs.

Doing a regular anti malware scan of your Windows-based system with a 3d party software is not just a recommendation, but a necessity. Apart from scheduled scans your antivirus and anti-spyware programs are set to perform, deep-scan your hard drives for malware presence at least once a month.
Chances are your security applications do not cover the whole range of all threats, so something can be let in the system without you knowing about it. No antivirus is capable of 100% detection rate on a longtime basis. Second, even if your computer it clean, it's better to know it for sure. Another check never hurts.

In case your computer got attacked with malware parasites despite active antivirus services running in the background, you can either bring it to tech repair or try and fix the infection yourself. The latter option is not recommended for complete novices because it involves a lot of research, trial and error. Often it takes hours, if not days to find the right tool that resolves the issue.
I've discovered an easy and free malware removal way to go, though actually few people know about it. This is nobody's fault because few years ago it simply did not exist.

But nowadays at least several software companies offer to try out their anti malware programs, and this is the most affordable way to remove threats for free. Here's why:

1. Software in trial mode has no difference compared to paid products. It features same functions, scanning engine, anti malware detection algorithms, protection shields and advanced settings. The only thing that puts it aside is time limit. Usually trial period lasts for two weeks or a month at most. But it is more than enough to see how good it is at protecting your computer. To complete the free malware removal process and wipe out all remnants of the infections you hardly need more than a day.
2. Nothing prevents you from testing two or even three trial programs. Since you're given this possibility, why not try out several competing products? Malware removal becomes a breeze when you throw several angry scanners against it.

So if you are looking for free malware removers, here's a short list of products that offer trial versions. They're all fully functional except for the time limit I've spoken above.
• A-squared anti-malware has released the 4th edition of its security program. The trial period covers a month of subscription service during which you're entitled for all updates. A-squared detects and removes over 1.2 million of threats so it makes sense to try this anti-malware program. Background monitor and powerful heuristic scanner, robust interface and several bonus tools make a-squared a tough product to compete with.
• SUPERAntiSpyware promises to remove even those malware entries that other security programs cannot handle properly. Patented Direct Disk Access technology and active system monitoring with low use of system resources make it a nice application suitable for older machines. Super antispyware comes bundled with a database consisting of 1 million malware signatures.
• Malwarebyte's anti-malware claims to destroy threats one byte at a time. It has become the number one tool to fight latest Trojan viruses that accompany hundreds of rogue security programs. Malwarebytes is so effective that trojan viruses try to block the company's website and make it impossible to download a program onto infected computer.

It is important to note that a trial anti malware programs have a by-side effect. If your current antivirus protection let the infection in, then it can happen again any time. However, if within the trial period of using one of the anti malware products listed above your computer stays resistant to repeated infection and lets no more infections inside, this is a good reason to think of getting the product for on-going protection against malware.
