Basic SEO Tips

Every time you read about SEO (search engine optimization) and everyone seems to have different ideas and methodology of doing it. That's truth as most of SEO is about trial and error, but there are couple of basic factors which remain same all the time.

So for all the beginners, before they jump into controversial topics on SEO today I would like to consolidate some of basic factors of doing SEO. I recommend you all not to jump on any controversial issues before they're clear with the basic of SEO. SEO is like a staircase that should be climbed one by one only. If you forgot 1st one then you'll surely fall.

SEO consist of 2 main factors; on-page optimization and off-page optimization. On-page optimization consists of all the tactics which are to be applied on physical web page. Whereas, off-page optimization includes optimization tactics which are not to be applied on physical web pages of our website (widely known as link building)

So now without any further delay let's take a look on the basic SEO Tips:
On-page Optimization:

Title Tag: Its very important tag for SEO of webpage. Limit the title tag to 65 characters and make a unique title for each page.

Meta Description: It's less important from SEO point of view but highly important from CTR (click through rate) point of view as it shows below your ranking on SERPs (search engine result pages). Yahoo! and Bing still rely somewhat on them, so if you are optimizing for Yahoo! or Bing, fill these tags properly with keywords.

Heading Tags: Use heading tags very efficiently on page. It is very important for SEO point of view. Use at least one H1 per page to emphasize the most important keywords on that page to the search engines. You can also include h2-h5 on the pages using keywords properly.

Internal linking: Internal linking of the website is very effectively way to rank well on search engine without putting efforts on building backlinks from 3rd party website. Do not forget do internal linking from your targeted keywords as an anchor text.

Keywords in content: Apart from inserting your keywords on above 3 places do not forget to integrate your keywords wisely within your main body content. This is very effective way to create relevance of page in search engine. Don't stick to specific keyword density. Just be natural in integrating the keywords. Don't over optimize even!
Off-page optimization:

Off-page optimization is widely knows as inking Building. Off-page optimization includes gathering links from 3rd party websites from our targeted keywords as an anchor text.

Just having a link is not important but how that link is putted is very important. If we have backlinks from a 3rd party website with our company name (say, ZealousWeb ) as an anchor text then will it be useful in ranking for our targeted keywords (Web Design USA)? No, it won't!

So the main point to remember while building links is to have targeted keywords as an anchor textof link!
