Can SEO techniques predict what Google has to say?

Google is truly amazing. As either an SEO tool, a learning tool, a web based email application or a video playback device, Google has cornered the market in nearly every single, useable web application. It has created a viable business model for millions of businesses thanks to its revolutionary pay per click and online marketing techniques and it continues to innovate and improve on a daily basis. Now, the Google search page that it started out with has a fantastic new function that automatically predicts what you are about to type! I am speaking about Google Suggest. And I ‘suggest’ you read the rest of this article to learn more about this innovative tool which is more than likely to be imitated by the competition, or in Google’s case, everyone else.

So, what is Google Suggest? Google Suggest is first of all, only active within the US Google search page. Other countries are sadly not yet supported. As you type your search term into the search box, Google will offer suggestions based on the words that you are typing. Let’s say that you are searching for toys. As you type ‘Toys’ into the search box, a drop-down appears with suggestions based on other popular searches. In this case, ‘Toys’ as a search term offers suggestions for ‘toys R us’ and ‘toys for boys’. Not bad, but let’s try something more advanced.

I’m pretty interested in online marketing, so I type that in as a search term and lo and behold! I watch as Google suggests some pretty interesting search terms for me. ‘Online Marketing companies’ which has been searched for over 54 million times is a winner in my books, so is ‘Online Marketing Jobs’ [21 million hits] and ‘Online Marketing tools [31 Million Hits]. Your lack of search terms is no longer grounded in the harsh reality of mistyped words or phrases. Google does it for you!
Another great way of using Google Suggest is by downloading their toolbar. I am well aware that toolbars are the bane of a clean browser layout, but hear me out for a second. This toolbar not only has the coveted Google search box with automatic search suggestion tool, but it also comes with a graphical PageRank display, auto fill [extremely handy], a spell checker and dozens more practical tools to keep you smiling as you browse. I am not hesitant in saying that this is possibly the only toolbar that anyone should have on their computer.

This is all pretty cool stuff, you must be thinking. So how does Google do this? How does it know what you think? It’s simple to explain, but there are of course complex algorithms that are behind this masterpiece of design. Google uses their internal computations to predict queries that users are most likely to expect. Unlike other similar tools, Google Suggest does not browse through your own personal history for ideas. In fact, a search connected to your keyword, combined with their overall popularity is used to produce the suggested search terms. It’s a simple process with a complicated background, just like I said.

So there we have it, Google has created yet another winning product and delivered it straight to your door, (or Windows) so to speak. Play around and experiment, discover which keyword combination is the winning one for you. Remember to always check the Google Labs section for further updates and innovations. The motto for Google is ‘Do No Evil’ and with this fantastic SEO tool helping you out, they have succeeded in living up to their maxim yet again.

I have been considering using Pay Per Clickfor his company website came across some interesting online marketing websites.
