Make Money With BloggingSubmitted by seotips8 Thu, 5 Mar 2009
Self-updating blogs were all the rage not too long ago. In some circles they are still popular. People hope to make money mostly with AdSense and even with affiliate products. AdSense advertisers may see some short term success, but in my humble opinion a self-updating blog is not a good long term, money making strategy. Why? Because essentially they are junk blogs and while you may get a visitor to click on an AdSense ad one time, they are likely never going to come back to your blog because it offers nothing of value. Therefore, you will spend all of your time, money and effort trying to get new visitors to come to your crappy blog.
Blogs - What Are They? Blogs are simply web logs on a web site - An online journal of postings that is updated on a regular basis, with the most recent posting appearing at the top. Blogs are usually written in a conversational style and can include text, images and links to other content such as podcasts, video files or even other web sites. To create a successful blog, you first have to pick a topic that you are interested or knowledgeable in then write an article about it. Although your opinion about a certain topic is acceptable, it is wise that you should stick to facts as much as possible. You can also mix in some humor if you want it to be more fun to read and also include your personal experiences about the topic. This would make the readers think that you actually experienced what is being discussed. Updating Frequency Different with traditional websites, blogs live! They breathe, and they have heart beats. In order to make them live you need to put fresh content on a regular basis. Especially during the early stages of blogs, at least one post per day is a must. Google loves frequently and regularly updating blogs, especially those focusing on specific niches and has unique content. Use the Google XML Sitemaps plugin for WordPress, every time changes occured in your blogs, i.e. a new post or widget, the major search engines are immediately notified, and spiders will soon follow. Frequently update your blogs (not too frequent though), the spiders will make it a habbit to visit your blogs. So will your readers. One tricky area for the online experience is isolation elimination. Feelings of isolation come with the territory in writing. The internet is packed with writers of all genres and interests and it's easy to lose yourself in discussion and debate once you meet a group of writers whom you feel a kinship with. If you have your own business and are based in the country, then you will also need to have a satellite connection. Regardless of the type of business that you have, you will want to be able to access the World Wide Web as quickly as possible. You need to check e-mail, check sales orders, update websites and more. Using any service slower than satellite could be detrimental to the success of your business.
