Skyrocket Your Google Rankings By Using this Tactic

Submitted by davidhume

Search Engine Optimization is by far one of the most effective and affordable ways to market your business online and since Google get's the bulk of traffic, getting top rankings for your keywords on Google should be your number one priority. There are two parts to search engine optimization, on page optimization, which involves, ensuring that your web page is built and setup correctly and off page optimization, which will be the focus of this article.
Off-Page Optimization involves building quality back links to your website from highly regarded sites. Each link is a vote of confidence for your website and as such allows you to climb up the ranks.
One of the more effective ways for getting back links next to submitting to directories and search engines is using articles. However, writing an article alone won't bring you results.
Let's take a look at how you can use articles to skyrocket your Google rankings

  • Length of the Article.

  • The Article must be at least 300 words, however 500 - 700 words is typical.
  • Article Title.

  • You must include the keyword that you are optimizing for in the title of your article, preferably at the beginning.
  • Article Body.

  • Include the keyword you are optimizing for as well as variations of the keywords, every 50 words.
  • Add a byline.

  • Now this is where the big deal is. Some article directories would allow you to add links in the body of an article. But all directories would allow you to add a byline at the end of your article. What you need to do is make sure that the keyword you are optimizing for is highlighted and linked back to your website. This is referred to as the anchor text. For example, if you are a Personal Injury Lawyer in New York and you want to rank high for New York Personal Injury Lawyer. Your byline will look like this. Jane Doe, is a New York Personal Injury Lawyer who has been practicing Personal Injury Law in New York for over 10 years. The two keyword phrases that are bold is what you would hyperlink back to your website, and you have just bought yourself 2 links.
  • Choosing the Right Directories.

  • Not all directories are created equal, some directories will allow you to place several links and others won't. Some directories are free and others are paid. Honestly, there are a lot of quality free directories so there really is no need to pay. What's most important you want to make sure your links are being counted. Some links are no follow, meaning that they don't count. Start with industry related directories and make your way to the others. Personally, I submit one article to over 200 directories, but it is a time consuming process because I submit manually. There are automatic article directory submission services, but they work very well. For a list of directories, please feel free to email me.

Article submission is not only great for building back links, but its also good to for driving qualified traffic back to your website. The idea is, if your articles are submitted where your prospects are, they will see it and likely visit your website for more information. In some instances, your articles will rank higher than your keywords at first, because these directories have tons of links, which is another way for you to get traffic to your website.
