Your first point of attention should be your domain name. A lot of people make the mistake of using the name of their company as their domain name. You want a domain name that includes the keywords of your product or market. For example my business might be called New Age Solutions and I offer SEO services. Buying seoservices.com might get me some traffic but if I can get hold of rowingmachines.com then I stand a great chance of ranking highly for the search term "SEO services" and hence more traffic. If these aren't available try putting a hyphen between the keywords. You might be able to purchase seo-services.com etc. Just be careful with hyphenated versions though. You don't want lots of keywords separated by hyphens as the search engines don't take too kindly to this.

If your main keywords have gone then look at some of your other associated keywords/long-tail keywords.

If the exact domain name you want has been taken then consider the singular or plural versions. If you're after seoservices.com and it's already been taken then try seoservice.com.

If you are aiming your business at the US or global market then go for the .com/.org/.net options but if you are solely targeting the UK market then you want .co.uk or if this is not available then .org.uk.

You may already have your website up and running under your business name and think that it's too late to make any changes. Why not keep your existing site going but see if you can buy another domain name that is keyword rich and run that alongside it?
