Submit RSS Feeds for Endless TrafficSubmitted by jasminesmith Tue, 21 Jul 2009
RSS also known as rich site summary or real simply syndication, arrived on the scene a number of years ago, but was only recently embraced by webmasters as a means to effectively syndicate content. RSS Feeds provide webmasters and content providers an avenue to provide concise summaries to prospective readers.
RSS is an easy way for you to keep updated automatically on websites you like. Instead of you having to go to websites to see if they've written a new article or feature, you can use RSS (which stands for Really Simple Syndication) to get them to tell you every time they have something new. In order to signal to website visitors that an RSS feed containing content related to the website is available, include a colorful graphic on the website. It has become a standard that nearly all websites that have RSS feeds available use colorful graphics such as flags as indicators that RSS feeds are available for specific content. RSS technology is easy to use and available to the general public, and assists web masters and designers every day in their attempts to fine tune website to the specifications of the goal audience. RSS feeds provide a simple approach to the perplexing problem of Spam, and are accessible at your fingertips. RSS feeds will see richer content becoming more common. We already have inclusions in RSS 2.0 that are used for pictures and more frequently podcasts. I think we will see an increase in video in RSS feeds although due to the bandwidth needed I think many inclusions will be in the form of torrents. That's right you heard it here first, RSS readers with integrated support for torrents. RSS feeds can be created on very specific topics. Like a laser beam, they can be aimed to give information on very specific niches. Narrowing the focus of a feed will generally increase the usefulness of the feed to the customer. It also increases the customers interest and trust in what the feed offers to them. All of this will result in more sales. Content published in an RSS feed is typically set up to send out notifications whenever new material is available. This makes the new content immediately available to feed readers and RSS search engines. Contrast this with ordinary web pages, which are essentially passive and generally aren't accessible to most of us until search engine crawlers find and index them. The best, and by far the best reason to use RSS Feeds on your web site is the fact that it makes the chosen content alive. What I mean is, you can choose several feeds on any subject you need, choose the amount of articles you want to display on your web site, and it gets automatically updated when someone submits a new article. Submitting RSS feeds to RSS directories can be a real pain for webmasters or business owners who use RSS feeds to make regular product announcements or promotional offers. When RSS technology first appeared on the internet in the late 90s, the usage is pretty limited.
