We are learned from childhood stories that nothing will stay perfect for longer period of time whether it is person or a company, everything or everyone is bound to commit small mistakes. That doesn't mean mistakes are committed with absence of mind but we get to know it after committing it and also from this experience plan for future to not repeat the mistakes for the same. We have seen the human nature is bound to do mistakes and learn from there. We think machines or software's are made not to make mistakes and are perfect that's true in one sense and wrong in other sense, as software's and machines are made by human themselves so they try to make the software which perfectly fits in human needs but sometimes they are not able to find small mistakes. Recently we have seen that even cooperates and governments have committed some mistakes and bring the world at chaos.
We here like to discuss the mistakes committed by Microsoft, biggest software maker in the world. Today, Almost 89% desktop users use Microsoft Windows for their computer operating system. It too has some complications.
Sherweb website recently found worst mistakes committed by Microsoft and we have listed the same here:
1. Internet Explorer 6
Sherweb considered IE (Internet Explorer) in the Microsoft's mistakes. IE6 is the worst in user experience and worst ever browser in browser history. PC World, popular PC magazine, rated IE6 worst tech products of all time and put it on 8th position in May 2006 edition. IE 6 is vulnerable to malwares, viruses and other malicious attacks. It is unstable and someone can easily breach the security. Web developers find IE 6 most difficult browser for its compatibility issues as it is not supporting CSS version 2.
Most analysts have stopped using IE 6. It's hard to believe that IE 6 is still leading used browser by internet users. According to recent reports IE 6 is taking 27% of market-share ahead of IE7 and Firefox.
2. Windows Vista
Microsoft released Windows Vista in January 2007 with bandwagon with thinking they have made one of the best OS they have made so far. Vista is made with objective of highest security level and has to be tough to hack compare to its predecessors. Most of the analysts didn't agree with it and they found that the security features are not better than older versions of Windows.
It has been also founded that Vista running slower on PCs compare to XP. Vista is slower in basic file operations like deleting or unzipping a file, also many other applications founded running slower.
As a result Vista failed to get popularity in the market. One of the recent research showing more than 85% corporate PC's prefer Windows XP.
3. MS-DOS 4.0
MS-DOS 4.0 (Microsoft Disk Operating System) is another mistake committed by Microsoft. MS-DOS 4.0 was launched in late 80's and improved some of the features from DOS 3.3. It had been reported with serious bugs such as data loss, corruption and serious flaw in RAM disk.
4. Windows 2000
Windows 2000 was released in 2000 and disappointed many on level of security. It was the last NT-based Windows release and include many of the new features of Windows 98 and Windows 98 SE into the NT, but criticised for its security level issues.
There had been various worms and virus attacks reported in year 2003 and. It infected major number of Microsoft Windows PCs and to clean-up it, the company bared huge cost. In 2005, most of PCs of Homeland Security and American News channels security breach reported.
5. Failed to understand Linux strength
Microsoft is considered as giant desktop software maker in the world with more than 85% market-share. But on another hand Linux is leader in making of super computers.
