Millions Could Be Watching Your Video Online

When it comes to using video websites to promote your online web site or blog, you will have a number of different options but the leader by far is YouTube. You can have access to millions of viewers, for free, and generate huge amounts of traffic to your web site or blog.

There are a number of online video websites that will allow you to upload and share your videos, many free of charge. To make the most out of the time spent making your video, I advise you to stick with the top 3 online video websites: YouTube, Google Video, and Yahoo Video. These three deliver literally hundreds-of-millions of potential viewers every day and, the more people that see your video, the better the chances are of them making their way to your web site or blog.

If you run your own web site or blog, you know how difficult it is to generate traffic. You may have created a terrific web site or blog to sell a particular product or on that relies on online advertisements to make money. Whichever type of website you own, your website will need to have traffic. Without that traffic, Internet users will not be available to buy your products or click on your advertisements.

When it comes to Internet traffic many newbies believe that search engines will do all of the work for them. When they create a web site or blog, it is likely that they will have content. That content most commonly includes articles. Search engines use that content to rank you. But, that content must be unique, very informative, and updated often to get search engines to come back for more.

Being the owner of a high ranking web site or blog usually results in more online visitors and more sales. Depending on the type of site you have, more visitors usually means more profits. Unfortunately, with an unlimited number of websites/blogs, not everyone can get a top ranking. This means that, in addition to search engines, you need to promote your web site or blog in other ways that do not depend on search engine traffic.

This brings us to video websites. The hottest way that you should be promoting your website/blog and to increase the number of page views by visitors, is to take advantage of the big 3: YouTube, Google Video, and Yahoo Video. These sites are rapidly increasing in popularity and that popularity will certainly help make your website/blog a success. Video hosting sites are popular because many of the videos are homemade, that is, they are made by people just like you.

When it comes to promoting your site, with these video hosting sites, there is one thing that you will want to keep in mind: Most Internet users will not watch videos that appear as spam and may post negative comments to alert other viewers. This means that you will want to promote your online business using common sense without trying to appear too pushy. This can easily be done a number of different ways.

If you are the owner of a site that sells a particular product or service, you will create a short video clip promoting or showcasing that product or service. But, your clip should only be a teaser of what you offer. You may be tempted to hard sell your site and the products you are selling, but this is a major mistake and one that most newbies make. Instead, you will want to keep your video as general as it can be. This will help to keep it from looking like increasing your sales the only goal of your video. You will show your site address, your URL, briefly at the beginning, middle, and end of your video. Plus, you should have your contact information in your Profile at the video hosting site.

The idea of using video hosting like YouTube, and others, is to take a soft sell approach and to create a unique and interesting video presentation that will create "buzz" and push more viewers to your web site or blog.

Take tours of the big 3 and see which videos get the most viewers. Use those to give yourself ideas about the type of video you can create.
