So What Is Your Type?

In addition to your design and images, your typeface and font are some of the most significant choices you have to make for your collateral such as your poster printing. Good typography is at the heart of any great design. And effective print posters can be achieved when you know the impact of whether to utilize an Arial or a Times New Roman to your content. Knowing full well the type, heights and ems of your font can go a long way in helping you control the outcome of your marketing collateral.

Read it yourself. As designers are usually the same people who do the content writing, it is necessary for you to understand the role of your font to make it easier for your readers to comprehend your message. Your choice of font contributes a great deal to the readability and legibility of your copy in your poster printing. The more readable your content, the quicker it is for your target audience to make a decision based on the information you provided. And hopefully, the decision would be in your favor. So read your content first.

If you had difficulty deciphering the e's from the a's then your target readers would also have a hard time understanding your writing. Make sure that you break long sentences and use concise headings. If you can summarize your content, the better it is for emphasizing the core of your message.

Consider your font's voice. Your choice of font and typeface sets the overall tone of your copy. Your poster printing can have the right message to the right people by way of your font. So consider what your fonts convey when they are read by your target clients. To make sure that you have the right font, determine first what you would want to say, and then choose the font that can help you emphasize your message in your print posters. Just remember that not all fonts can be appropriate to your particular needs. It is best to choose one that can amply say what you mean in your message.

Consider your font and its scale. This means having the right font in the right size that is most effective to convey your message. A font in the right scale can go a long way in helping your readers fully understand your message. When combined, your font and its size can help a great deal in getting you that positive impact on your readers. So provide visual interest in your fonts by giving them the best height and width in your content.

Finally, provide clarity and function to your font. It is far more readable for your content to stay in its original scale. Except for your headings, it is better to stick to the original size for the font in your body. Start including fonts that can add to the strength of your message. And add visual interest with the right font in your poster printing design.
