Why Article Marketing Isn't All About Writing

"Genius Is 1% Inspiration and 99% Perspiration" - Thomas Edison
nIf I could use the above quote as a template, I would have easily rephrase it to read, "Article Marketing Genius is 1% Writing and 99% Marketing."
nWhile that is true, never overlook the importance of article writing. A good article marketed brings success. A not-so-good, or even bad, article marketed brings disaster. It tarnishes reputation and drives your traffic away.
nUntil and unless you actively promote your articles, it'll probably end up being discarded or archived in the online article directories.
nA good example on the importance of marketing is the famous Harry Potter series by J.K. Rowling. With the amount of advertisements in the bookstores and the attention given on the series by the press, the book series sold out like hotcakes.
nMovies of Harry Potter follow suit. Figurines of Harry Potter filled up the shelves of collectible toys. T-shirts were printed with Harry Potter pictures. Every child who has gone to school has probably read before a book from the Harry Potter series.
nCan you imagine such results purely from marketing? That's probably why it's article marketing, and not just article writing.
nBy the same token, bestselling authors gain their fame and recognition largely from promotion of their books through holding and releasing press releases.
nNaturally this brings us to the next question. How then, should we market our articles once our articles are completed?
nHere are 2 simple ways:
n1. Submit Articles to Article Directories. Submit to article sites like EzineArticles, GoArticles, SearchWarp or any other article directories. Follow their submission or editorial guidelines closely and they'll be glad to accept your article submissions.
n2. Submit Articles to Ezine Owners. Using Google search engine, you'll probably find hundreds of ezine owners dying to accept articles relevant to their topic. Approach them and drop them a courtesy email, requesting permission to publish your article on the next issue of their ezines.
