The 5 Best Friends of the full time Internet MarketerSubmitted by Nicolas Prudhon Thu, 9 Apr 2009
Healthy Lifestyle for Internet Marketer
Success online comes from many different factors. We often talk about your ability to sell, the keywords you chose, your SEO knowledge level, your list, your network, etc… But there’s one factor we always forget to talk about and it’s our own emotional and physical state of mind. The Internet Marketer Problem Before anything else, success online is defined by your ability to persist with your initial intention to make it big on internet. Unfortunately, too many people give up very easily and very quickly. Persistence and consistency are keys to success online. Most of the people quit because of lost of interest, lack of results, or lost of faith. Internet Marketing, SEO and other online professional activities are a world of their own indeed. My goal in this article is to provide you a few tips to make your lifestyle online a much less stressful one. Best Friend #1: Your Internet Connection Yes my friend, you are basically spending most of your time online and trust me, your internet connection quality matters a lot. Just consider the time value itself, when surfing, having pages that load in half the time, or a video you upload in 3mn instead of 42mn can have serious relaxing effect on your nerves and schedule. Picture yourself as a construction worker having to dig a tunnel; would you rather use a giant mechanical drill or a table spoon to do the work? Best Friend #2: Your Hosting Company That’s right; your hosting company is who you entrust with your website. What’s the use of spending countless hours and dollars into a site that is always down and with a customer service that you can’t reach… Your website is your piece of “virtual real estate” so choose it with as much care as you would when purchasing a home. Best Friend #3: A Damn Good Chair You are set to be sitting for most of your day and days therefore, make sure that you are sitting comfortably! It may sounds stupid, but having a good chair adjusted at the right height really does make a difference, especially for your back. If your position is not comfortable, it will be very difficult for you to focus on your work and thus being productive. Best Friend #4: The Fitness Room Sitting all day in front of a computer is not the description of the healthiest lifestyle. A key element for you to stay sharp and productive on your work is the old adage of “a healthy mind in a healthy body”. By doing some regular exercise, you’ll increase your body capacity to perform strenuous tasks and therefore increase your capacity to focus longer and better on your work, as well as remaining healthy for a longer period of time. Best Friend #5: Your Business Plan Knowing exactly what you want to do, how you want to do, and by when you expect to achieve it is one of the best way for you to stay on track and motivated. Too many people don’t know what they should be doing when they start their day, neither do they know at which point they can call it a day. Worst, a lot of people without proper expectations quit unsatisfied with their results, but short of actually knowing what is the value of what they have already accomplished and how far on the success scale they truly are. In Conclusion I just gave you a small list of tips that can make a big difference in your lifestyle and work performance on internet. And believe me; I talk based on personal experience. You can ask my wife how many time she heard me complaining how internet was slow and I couldn’t do my submissions properly or how it takes forever to open a webpage…. I also enjoyed a wonderful host in the past that had a tendency to have my site down every Monday and to get my email blacklisted for 1 week every month or so by mistake… I also did suffer quite some back pain by enjoying the so called “dot com lifestyle” by trying to work on my sofa… and when I realized that I actually gained a descent belly size by only exercising my index finger on mouse clicks I realize that something should be done. Finally, I do have a tendency to be workaholic and without the help of a proper plan, I could totally forget that there’s a world outside my computer… Anyway, I suffered all of that to make sure you don’t so I truly recommend you to follow my advice!
