The real purpose of Mini sites and mini site templates

Mini sites are used to sell a single product or service. I use mini sites to sell additional products and have additional products and not take from my main product. They are quick and easy to build and can usually be up and running in a hour or two. I like using mini site templates as product promotion pages and landing pages.


You can use mini sites to do the following:
Single product promotion
Affiliate product promotion
Landing or lead capture page
Specialized niche sites


I personally use them for all three things. Let's discuss them in more detail and how they apply to marketing on the internet.


Single product promotion
If you selling a product like an e-book or some other informational or email able product, Mini sites are great taking someone who knows little about the product to taking them through the sales process to closing them. Mini sites are generally longer than a standard web page and they require you to scroll down the page as you scan it, view its pictures or read its text. This is done to keep most of the information one page. If you need to re read some point or guarantee its easy to scroll back up to read it or scroll down the page to the order link.


Affiliate product promotion
Mini sites are great for presenting an affiliate product before sending the prospect to the affiliate's web site. You can also make it into an informational article about your affiliate product that will encourage visitors to click through to your sponsor's page. You can also use them to lead qualify your prospect.


Landing or lead capture page
I like to use a mini site as a click through page before the affiliate's page for lead collection. This gives you a chance to collect information from your prospect before you send them to the product pitch page. You can also make it into an informational article about your product that will encourage visitors to click through to your sponsor's page.


Specialized niche sites
Mini sites can be used to make specialized niche sites. Specialized niches work very well for mini sites as they can be used for highly targeted advertising and promotion. Using keyword or a few keyword phrases you can highly target certain long tail keywords or keyword phrases. Doing this will allow the mini site to achieve good rankings in the search engines.
