Website Redesign - Five Guidelines to Improve Website Conversion Rates

Website Redesign - Is it the solution to your website conversion problem? Oftentimes when lead generation and sales are low, marketing managers and business owners focus on increasing traffic to a website by pouring more money into pay per click, search engine optimization and other strategies.

However, the first step should be to evaluate where you are, your existing traffic and conversion rate. Maximizing the conversion rate on your existing traffic will prove to be far more cost effective than pouring more money into advertising.

To do so effectively, here are five guidelines for you to follow:

Web Analytics - If you don't already have this installed and configured on your website, it's the first thing that you must do right at this moment. It's the only way you will be able to track your website conversion rate and identify the best ways for you to improve it.

Back up your claims - Yes your product is outstanding and you are an expert at what you do, but why a prospect should take your word for it? You need to back up your claims with social proof or validation in the form of testimonials, case studies, reviews, awards, success stories.

Give to Receive - There is a reason cell phone companies give away free phones, because it is effective in helping them achieve their ultimate goal, subscribers to their service. The same philosophy can be implemented in your business. The key is to give away something inexpensive that is of perceived value to the prospect, where in turn the prospect feels it necessary to take action.

Getting in Touch Should be Easy - Thanks to the advance in technology, you can make it easy for customers to get in touch and communicate with a representative at your company. BY simply adding click to call features on your website, click to chat, you will be surprise to see the increase in conversions that can be achieved. In addition, add contact forms, email us, connect with us, or sign up with our newsletter as alternative ways for visitors to communicate with your company by providing them with the various options to choose how they would like to communicate with you.

Provide Security-If you're selling online it's imperative for you to display recognizable seals of approval such as VeriSign and Truste, or other reputable SSL certificate providers. In addition adding logos of industry organizations and other reputable affiliated companies would provide a boost in confidence to prospective customers.

By implementing these five proven guidelines when redesigning your website, or simply making updates to your website, you are sure to see an increase in your website conversion rates, which has the capacity to increase your sales and your company's overall bottom line. For optimal performance and maximizing your website conversion rate, it is important to continuously monitor your website's performance through your respective analytics tools and continue to seek out new ways for you to improve your conversion rates of your already existing website traffic.
