Web Beauty and Functionality

Submitted by crestmediainc

Web Design is an art of balance, many may forget but this line of work requires balance between beauty and functionally. To catch someone's eye at first glance and keep them coming back with the content is something that any decent website should do. So how can you exactly do that?

According to an Orange County Web Design firm, Crest Media Inc., there's no exact equation on creating balance between the design and it's functionality but there are others who can do it in a blink of an eye through sheer experience. But if you're still new to the industry then there are guidelines on how to do this.

The first step is in the planning, once you get started on a project make sure to lay everything out on the table. Since the design should concern the user then think from a user perspective, ask yourself questions like:

*

How long am I willing to wait for the website to load?
*

How deep will I want to go before giving up on the content that I need?

These are only a couple of the question you should ask when thinking up the design. The two questions above concern the size of the whole website and how organized the structure is.

When it comes to the file size of the website consider what graphics are really needed to complement your content, if you think that the graphics you want to put in won't bring in any added value the omit it or at least minimize it. This serves to make your website cleaner and it helps in keeping your viewers waiting in check.

When it comes to structure, you should think along the lines of ergonomics and again if your viewers are willing to really dig just to get something out of your website. The structure should be as flat as possible. This saves time on the user side making it a better experience for them to keep coming back. This also gives your users more time to explore other pages.

In the case of this Orange County Web Design firm, a good design promotes the content rather than the design, its design should function as a stimulant for the users to keep on using the site or else the design itself fails.
