If you are thinking of making a willl it is a good idea to also think that after making a will where will you keep it. YOu must bear in mind that if you die your will must be easily obtainable so that the wishes within it can be carried out. After making a will it seems pointless if you go and hide it somewhere where no one else knows where it is. Many people, of course will these days be making a will online, where they download it and then sign it, not forgetting that after making a will, you must get your signature to the will witnessed by two people at the same time. But tell someone you have a legally valid will written. So in the event of your death the appropriate persons can locate it.

If you are making a will at a solicitors of course they will ensure it is witnessed and signed correctly to ensure that the your will is a legally valid will.

But after making a will where do you keep it then? Well as long as you tell the executors that you are making a will and where you intend storing it then that's Ok. Ideally though many people after making a will even making an online will still be able to lodge the signed and witnessed version at their bank or leave it with a solicitor for safe keeping. This is normally recommended.

The only thing you need do then is make sure if you can that after writing a will and leaving the legally valid will with a bank or solicitor you make sure you let them know if you move addresses.

Try and do this soon after writing a will only because probably if you are like most people you have put off writing a will and now having got down to writing a will you should make sure you leave it somewhere it can be found.

I have a blog which highlights the importance of Will writing and covers the reasons as to why one should write a Will. It was stated that over 70% of the UK population do not have a Will, therefore i set out to create a source of information online to assist those that do not have a Will and point the reasons as to why you should write a Will.
