Fisher Price 3-in-1 High Chairs Recalled Due to Fall Hazard

The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission announced March 24 a voluntary recall of Fisher Price 3-in-1 High Chairs. The highchair recall followed an injury report related to the high chairs.

High Chairs Pose Fall Hazard

According to reports, the Fisher Price 3-in-1 High Chair poses a fall hazard to young children who can fall backwards if the booster seat release becomes unlatched while the child is in the seat. The recall also states that if the back of the seat is not fully latched children are at risk of falling backwards.

Child Head Injury Linked to Faulty High Chair

There has been one injury report linked to the faulty high chairs. According to the report, a child fell backwards from the 3-in-1 High chair and fractured his skull.

Recalled High Chair Description

The recalled high chairs are sold under the brand name 3-in-1 High Chair to Booster. The chair converts from a high chair to a booster seat and was sold in Target stores from December 2008 to March 2009 for approximately $100. The recall involves about 24,000 high chairs.

Recall Advises Parents to Contact Fisher Price

The CPSP recall advises parents who purchased a 3-in-1 High Chair to stop using it and contact Fisher rice directly for more information. Fisher Price is issuing free repair kits to all consumers who purchased the product.
