Gladiator Suffers Whiplash Injury

19 year old Lucy Boggis appeared as Tempest in Sunday in Sky One’s new series of the cult TV show gladiator.

Unfortunately her debut was hampered by a serious whiplash injury which Lucy received during one of the challenges which the gladiators take part in with members of the public.

She was taking part in the powerball challenge where the gladiators use all their strength and wit to prevent contestants from putting balls into large pots.

The challenge was nearing an end when Lucy made an over zealous attempt to tackle the contestant. She landed awkwardly causing painful whiplash damage to her neck.

“I gave myself delayed concussion and whiplash,” she said.

“I made a really big tackle and took the contestant down but they landed on my head.”

Contact sports often result in whiplash injury and in the case of injury caused while working on a TV show, claims can sometimes be brought against the production company.

However, Lucy accepts all blame for the injury and feels that making a claim would be pointless.

Luckily Lucy recovered quickly and was feeling well enough to partake in some light surfing with her family in Devon at the weekend.

After a quick dip in the sea during the pleasant weather we had this weekend, Lucy and her boyfriend set off to find a pub with sky where they watched her painful debut on the series.

Her presence in the pub drew some attention from locals who recognised her from gladiators. “I had to do a few autographs and pictures afterwards” said the young gladiator.
