A man who suffered a painful injury to his Achilles tendon while playing football wearing a pair of faulty Adidas football boots has an injury lawyer to thank for his four figure compensation sum from the sportswear giant.

He was originally offered a replacement pair of football boots and just £50 in compensation from Adidas, for an injury which meant he had to take a whole month off work and left him in terrible agony.
Disgusted by the insulting offer from Adidas, the victim decided that in order to get the compensation which he deserved he would have to enlist the expert assistance of a personal injury lawyer.

He approached a firm of personal injury lawyers and explained the nature of the incident and the pain and suffering which he had endured, and finally, the paltry offer from Adidas which he had turned down.

Having spent £120 on the football boots which he wore to play with his amateur team that weekend, he was expecting that the brand new Adidas boots might give him a slight advantage in the match. Unfortunately they had quite the opposite effect.

As the 46 year old man made a run for the ball, one of the studs on the Predator Pulse boots snapped off, causing him to fall awkwardly and snap his Achilles tendon.

In agony he was forced to take over a month off work and has not been confident that his injury will allow him to play football in the near future.

The Achilles tendon is the thickest and strongest tendon in the human body and runs up the back of the ankle. Achilles injuries are notoriously painful and damage to the Achilles tendon can leave sufferers unable to walk.

A snapped Achilles tendon usually requires surgery and can leave the area permanently weakened, which can interfere with walking and sporting activities.

Together with the help of an injury lawyer, he challenged the offer from Adidas and came away triumphant when Adidas agreed to revise their original offer and offered an undisclosed four figure sum.

Delighted with the result, he accepted the offer, attributing the improved offer to the expert guidance and negotiating skills of his injury lawyer.

"The original offer from Adidas was derisory, given the inconvenience, pain and suffering I went through. Fortunately my solicitor was able to achieve a much more equitable outcome,” he said.

This man's experience highlights the benefit of hiring an injury lawyer when seeking compensation as an injury lawyer is much more likely to be able to negotiate a satisfactory amount of compensation than the average person.

Despite the painful accident which the Predator Pulse boots caused, Adidas blamed the accident on one faulty pair of football boots and said that they will not be considering recalling the product as a result of this incident.

The company declined to comment on the specifics of the case, no doubt keen to keep the incident quiet and move on from the injury their boots caused to this man.

If you have had an accident, consider hiring a personal injury lawyer to help you secure the compensation you deserve.
