When you think of summer hot spots you probably think of warm weather and great clientele - the kind of place that everyone wants to be. However, there are 'hot spots' for accidents, too, especially where cars are concerned. The South of England has some of the most accident-prone roads of anywhere in the UK, but all of the major roads, especially those in and out of the major cities like London, are a problem. This is especially true in the summer because there are a lot more people on the roads. During the wintertime in the UK more people stay at home. It's generally chilly and damp and overcast, and people devote their time to work and to their families. When the summer comes around they suddenly want to get out and do things. They want to take holidays and travel, and they all try to do it at once.

That means that the roads in and out of London and other big cities as well the main motorways that go to popular beaches and holiday spots are often clogged with cars. All of them are 'hot spots' for accidents because there are more cars and more aggressive drivers who are trying to get to their destinations. The more people on the road, and the more annoyed they get with other drivers, traffic jams, and cars full of unruly children, the higher the chance for traffic accidents. People aren't paying attention as well when they're upset and stressed and in a hurry, and when they don't pay attention they run into one another, drive their cars into ditches, and cause accidents and injuries.

In order to avoid those kinds of things, people who travel in the summer must be more careful. If you're travelling during that time, make sure that you leave in plenty of time to get to your destination and that you allow for delays. Also make sure that you're well-rested, prepared, and that your packing is done so that you aren't rushed on the day that you travel. It can cause you to leave late, be in a bad mood, and try to drive too fast to make up for lost time. When that's the case, the risk of injury to you or other people goes up, so avoid being the problem and be part of the solution instead by travelling safely and carefully to your holiday destination.
